I thought I would be miserable doing this job,but instead,I love it.
みじめになるような仕事だとばかり思っていたのですがすっかり気に入ってしまいました。

＊ 自分が想定していない結果になったことを正直に伝える表現
＊ 男性はloveをあまり使わないがそれは食べ物や着るものなどの時

I’m sure if I had gone to law school,I would have been a lawyer.
もし法科大学院へ進んでいたとしたら弁護士になっていたでしょう。

＊ 状況が違っていたら別の仕事についていたかもしれないことを伝える
＊ wouldの代わりにmightを使うと・・・になっていたかもしれない(推測)
＊ wouldの代わりにcouldを使うと・・・になっていただろうに(残念)

I’ve been a great champion of liberal arts education.
私は一般教養教育の重要性を強く提唱してきました。

＊ been a champion of ～を強く提唱する(自分が支持していることを伝える)
　 be an adovocate of ～を提唱する も同じ意味だがよりchampionを使った方が意気込みをより伝えることが可能

In fact,I’ve written a book which talks about how they can make a difference as artists in society.
実際、私は著者の中で芸術家が社会にどう影響を与えていけるのかについて述べています。

＊ can make a difference in society  ～が社会に影響を与える

    君達が社会を変えていける。

　　I would like to be a person who can make a difference in society.
    私は社会に影響を与えるような人物になりたいです。
