類似・相違・同等の関係を語る

his plan is similar to mine in many ways.
この計画は多くの点で私の計画に似ている。

This box is similar to that box in shape.
この箱は形においてあの箱と似ている。

to：相対して(対比性)

You look a little different from usual.
あなたはいつもとちょっと違って見える。

differ：異なる、意見が食い違う(離れていく感じ)

fromの後には名詞以外も置ける。

He made the same decision as I did.
彼は私がしたのと同じ決断をした。

same：同じものや同じ種類という意味で使える

as：２つのものを対等の関係におく(何かを天秤に乗せて対比させている感じ)

Nancy has as much money as Jack.
ナンシーはジャックと同じぐらいのお金を持っている。

Nancy does’t have as much money as Jack.
ナンシーはジャックほどお金を持っていない。

Nancy has twice as much as Jack.
ナンシーはジャックの２倍お金を持っている。

She looks as beautiful as ever.
彼女はこの上なく美しく見える。

as ever：どの時点と比較してても
 
as in the past：過去と比較して

Cats are similar to children in the way they behave.
猫は子供と行動の仕方が似ている。

Cats are different from dogs in the way they behave.
猫は犬と行動の仕方が違う。

Cats are different from lions in size.
猫はライオンと大きさが違う。

それは(それができうるかぎり)美しい。

I am as happy as can be.
私はこの上なく幸せだ。
